First Day of Maternity Leave

So today was the first day I had off of work for leave. It was so nice! I got some stuff done around the house that I have been wanting to get finished but was too tired to do after work. I still have some more to do but I will do a little each day. I also ran some errands and even got to take a nap! Everyone says I need to get the naps in before the baby is here. Raeleigh and I played some games, read and put some puzzles together. The whole day just put me in a good mood. I don't know....I could get used to this. It was great. I didn't have some old, rich man mad at me because he didn't want to plant a tree, pave his parking lot or close his curb cut. It was just a good day:)

No Baby Yet

I just wanted to let everyone know that baby Irelynn has not made her debut yet. Everything seems to be going well but she is just not ready to meet us all yet. At my appointment last Tuesday, I was at 3cm. So I thought she would come sometime this week....but no, not yet.

My last day of work was on Friday. It is such a great feeling to know that I will be on leave until September. I know it will go by so fast though. Awhile back I had talked about how there would only be three people (instead of the normal seven) at work this summer....well the day before I left, another staff person put in their two weeks notice and will be leaving after June 27th. This baby is coming at just the right time! I'm so glad I don't have to deal with all the chaos at work this summer.

Happy Fathers Day to everyone!

9 Months and Ready!

So here is the 9 month photo. I'm pretty ready for the baby to be here now. I've had a few drs. appointments and they said I'm progressing well and she could be here any day or in a few weeks. I guess we will just have to wait and see. The last two weeks I have been feeling ready. I'm feeling lots of pressure when I walk so it is getting a little difficult to be at work. I told my boss today that my last day before leave would be Friday, June 13th. I'm looking forward to the last day!

The baby's room is now painted and it has the furniture in it. We haven't really gotten too much further on the basement but we will work on that eventually. I'm still organizing things in the baby's room and I hope to have it near completion the first week I have off of work. I'm just glad it is somewhat finished.

Tornados

We survived the tornados last week. It was all too much for me to handle but I'm glad they didn't do any harm like they did so many other places. I was very stressed out. The sirens went off several times and yes, I was freaking out. The first picture was taken right out our front door. I saw the clouds starting to swirl and was in the basement by the time this was taken. The second picture, one of our neighbors took and sent to us. I think it was the same tornado....but we had a few around Cheyenne that day.

Jury and Irelynn Update

So this time I was selected to be on the jury for the trial. I have been there all week long. They aren't sure if they will even be finished today. I have really enjoyed it and I've learned alot about the whole trial process. I really think it's a great learning experience. So many of the people on the jury want to have the trial end as soon as possible and keep complaining that they want to go back to work. I really just do not understand! I think this is just such a great change of pace and an all around interesting experience. I guess everyone is different though.

Baby news.......Irelynn has been so active! She is constantly moving all day and all night. It makes me feel good whenever I feel her moving. It makes me believe she is doing well. She also has been having the hiccups almost everyday, a few times a day. At first, it was just the cutest feeling then I started to worry a little. I thought maybe she was having them too much. I looked online and it seems like it is all pretty normal and it is actually a sign of a strong lungs. To read that made me feel lots better.
