The Last Days of Fall

We have had the most beautiful fall this year! The winter has now set in. It has snowed for the last few days. These pictures were taken on the last few days of fall. I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving and we just started to get snow! I am thankful for that.

Halloween

It is halfway through November and I am just getting around to posting Halloween pictures. Its better late than never! Irelynn loved Halloween. She dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland. That is one of her favorite movies right now. We went trick-or-treating for about two hours and she was not ready to give up. She ran from house to house as fast as she could. As I was tucking her into bed that night she looked at me and asked if we could go trick-or-treating again the next day. Poor girl! I told her she had to wait a year to do it again. Her favorite candy was the dum dums and pixy stixs. Somehow she still has a lot of chocolate left to eat.

Irelynn's Accident

Little Irelynn had her first trip to the emergency room yesterday. Hopefully there aren't any more of those! She was standing on the last step of the stairs that go upstairs (facing the upstairs) and she took a step back and fell flat on her back. She hit her head hard on the hardwood floor. It was a loud hit and she screamed. We put an ice pack on her head but she was just not acting herself. She wanted to go back to sleep and lay in bed. This was at 9:30am. She never sleeps at that time in the morning. I have to force her to go take a nap at 2:oo in the afternoon. She was also just acting out of it. So I decided to take her to the emergency room. On the way there she threw up all over the back seat! That made me really start to worry and I felt so bad for her. Luckily I saved the IPad from her fountain of puke.

Irelynn stayed in the ER for the morning. They gave her a cute hospital gown which she got to take home. She was given some Motrin and took a short nap. All of her vitals looked good so they said the best thing to do is just watch how she does. They said to watch for excessive sleep, more vomiting, not acting like herself or her pupils being different size. They said letting her sleep would heal her better than anything else which I thought was surprising. It seems like all you ever hear is to not let a kid sleep if they have a concussion. After waking from her nap, Irelynn was back to her normal self. It was so good to see her feeling better. She was released and she did really well last night and this morning so no more worries!

Fall

We have had the best fall this year. We usually never have a fall at all. It just goes from a hot August to a snowy, cold September. I'm almost afraid to say it but here it is October 22nd and it hasn't snowed yet! The leaves have even had a chance to change all kinds of colors. It has been really beautiful. Today is a rainy day but it is so nice and it makes it feel like fall. I'm so thankful it is not snow! I think I could actually stand winter this year if it is only 5 to 6 months instead of 9 months.


A few weeks ago we went to Harvest Farm in Colorado. The day started out cold (it was probably our only cold day we had so far). They have so much to do for kids.....pumpkin patch, lots of animals, hay rides, pumpkin launchers, corn maze and much more. Here are a few pictures.

Its about time

So it has been a little over a year since I last posted on the blog. I don't know where the time goes. Plus I think I just needed a little break and I as dealing with alot of things in life and didn't have time for the blog. I want to try and make more time for the blog now. We will see how that goes!

Irelynn is now 2 years old. She is talking up a storm (though only in the privacy of our home). I can't believe how big she is now. She really wants to go to school but most of the places around here will not take them until they are 3 years old. Here is a picture of Ireynn and her BFF (and cousin) baby Audrey.
