Baby is Here!

Irelynn Grace arrived on June 26th at 2:33 am. Everything went really well and we are so happy and in love with her. Last weekend my rash started spreading to my entire body and I was a huge itchy mess. I couldn't stand it anymore! I was in so much pain from the itchiness. I made it to my drs. appointment on Wednesday, June 25th and the dr. said I had a severe case of PUPPs and should be induced as soon as possible. He told me to head to the hospital and meet him in half an hour. This was probably really good because it did not give me much time to think about anything....I didn't have much time to freak myself out:) They gave me a dose of some cream at 7:00pm and my contractions started at 8:00pm. Somehow I managed to get through the contractions and went through natural child birth! I'm really amazed I did it and am very happy about it. Jeremy was a really great help. I really could not have done it without him. He helped me through each contraction, held my barf bowl for me:), and really encouraged me when it came to pushing. The nurses I had also really helped me to stick to my plan of natural child birth. I started to doubt myself at about 7cm but they made me push through it and I'm so greatful for that now. I was in labor for about 6 hours and everyone tells me that is wonderful for the first baby. I can't imagine going for much longer.....good job to all those mommies that had to do that. Irelynn arrived and she weighed 7lbs 10 ozs, 20 inches. She has lots of hair and loves to eat. She is doing really well and she is a healthy baby. She loves to suck on her pa-pa and fingers.

We got home from the hosptial yesterday the 27th at about noon. We are glad to be home and enjoying our little girl. The itchiness is still here but it doesn't seem to be as awful. My dr. said it will slowly go away in the next few days. I can't wait for it to be gone!

Congratulations!!! She is beautiful and so tiny.. Make sure you take lots and lots of pictures. It's already hard to believe that Drew was once that little! He told me he can't wait to meet his new cousin :-)
Erin - thats awesome that you did it with no drugs! Nice work.. Im jealous. Listen to people when they say "sleep when the baby sleeps" it really helps..

Hey Erin,

WOW! Little Irelynn is gorgeous. I love all of her hair, the bow is too cute! I hope you plan on sticking lots of bows in her hair, I think it is so... adorable.

Congratulations Erin and Jeremy! Way to go on the natural birth! Glad to know you're both doing well. :) Irelynn is simply beautiful. I second the "sleep when the baby sleeps". Enjoy this time with her while she's so little, it's fleeting. :)
